Busy day at Studio Everythibg

If you don't ride the bus, now you should. Check out these fun bus shelter wraps on Glass Street. The community asked for these 2.5 years ago in our input sessions and members of the neighborhood were on the Public Art selection committee. Now, thanks to Public Art Chattanooga we can all enjoy this wonderful addition to the neighborhood. #Carta #public transportation #artplaceamerica

In 2013, bus shelters, benches, sidewalks, street lights, trees, storefront improvements, and a park made the top of the list requested by residents that live within a half mile radius of Glass Street. GHC has worked with residents, artists, and partners to make all of these needs a reality. Today, thanks to Public Art Chattanooga, we have a bus shelter wrapped in local art that was chosen by residents in the area, local volunteers, and supporters. Pictures of the other two bus stops to follow.

Glass House Collective applied for a KABOOM playground on Glass Street. The nature of this work is never exact and shift happens. We were unable to install the playground equipment in the site we applied for so we reached out to Hope for the Inner City. Hope was excited about the prospects of a playground in their front yard. Hope employees, residents, and Blue Cross Blue Shield volunteers built this playground in 6 hours. This story is proof that partnerships matter and a 'strength in numbers' reminder. We love all this East Chatt love!

DESIGN•BUILD•PLAY•REPEAT. @publicworkshop led an awesome two day workshop with 10-12 kids from Avondale Rec Center. They worked together to create prototypes that they'd like to incorporate in the plans for the new Avondale Rec Center.
