Park Day 2016
Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park is partnering with Glass House Collective, Southeastern Conservation Corp, Sierra Club, and the Trust for Public Land to host Park Day 2016, a volunteer clean up work day, at the Pennsylvania Reservation at the corner of Glass and Campbell Streets. This will be the second volunteer effort to assist in cleaning up the proposed trail connecting Pennsylvania Reservation to Sherman Reservation along North Crest Road that Southeastern Conservation Corp plans to build this summer.
Since 1996, Civil War Trust has sponsored Park Day, an annual hands-on preservation event to help Civil War — and now Revolutionary War — battlefields and historic sites take on maintenance projects large and small.
BIG THANKS to Lululemon and Crossfit Brigade for volunteering to assist in pulling out the larger items such as a water logged sofa, chairs, etc. AND hosting a yoga class after the volunteer work day.
We will have gloves, trash picker up’ers, and garbage bags thanks to Tennessee Valley Authority and Scenic City Beautiful.
Water and box lunches will be provided. Please RSVP to join us on our Facebook Event page. We need all the helpful hands we can get! Please use #ParkDay2016 when you are uploading photos of the day to social media.
