Christmas Cheer at Studio Everything
The youth at Studio Everything are gearing up for Christmas by making Christmas ornaments for their friends and family.
When you walk into Studio Everything, you are immediately surrounded by a vibrant energy created by youth participating in woodworking and painting projects for the Christmas season. The most popular project is the christmas ornament painting station. Here the children and youth paint handmade wooden ornaments for friends and family members. Some are even selling their work to interested customers at affordable prices.
The ornaments are made from discarded wood found within the neighborhood. The idea is to reuse the material and make it into eye-catching, functional art pieces. Rondell, the artist in residence focused on creative place making on Glass Street, has developed this model to encourage young people to reduce, reuse, and recycle materials within their environment and create pieces that benefit the community as a whole.
If you are interested in joining in on the festivities next week, come by Studio Everything between 3-7pm. Hope to see you there!
Happy Holidays from Studio Everything!
